Has anyone ever heard of a dog food that is meat free AND grain free? My dog is supposedly allergic to grain, chicken, and beef. I tried feeding her food that was salmon, pea, and pumpkin, but her allergic reactions seemed to have gotten worse. So I’m guessing she’s allergic to the salmon as well. I want to take her off all meat to see if that helps, but if she really is allergic to grain as well, where do I find grain free vegan food?

What vegan kibble has the highest protein?? My pugid allergic to many kibbles. But now has low protein. She’s currently in natural balanced vegetarian food . I also add 1/4 can Halo vegan to 1/2cup of the dry natural.

In reply to heather. suggest You start looking for a new vet. One that took more the the required 2 hours of nutrition. My vet encouraged a vegan diet for my allergic to everything, IBD, Pancreatitis dog. The change was amazing.

In reply to Mark. Same here ... I've even gotten strange looks when I tell the vet that both of my dogs are vegan. But to tell you the truth, they are so much healthier now. Their coats are healthy & shinny and they both have healthy digestive systems.

It’s funny, people look at me like I’m from another planet when I say my dogs are vegan. I’ve lived (thrived) on a plant based diet for 45 years and my dogs do as well. I am very careful about their nutritional needs as I am my own and they do wonderfully.
Thank you for taking the time and effort to assemble this information and supporting narrative. Perhaps more people will open their minds to the reality of animals feeding animals and the horrors surrounding the practice.

Not sure when this article was written, but I checked out the Nature’s Recipe Vegetarian food on amazon, and it is available on Prime! Looks like there is no “downside” — Yay! (:
