Best Cruelty-Free & Vegan CC Cream Brands

Choosing the right product for your skin can be overwhelming. If, like me, you want to moisturise, protect, and even your skin tone at the same time, then CC creams are definitely the way to go.

While BB creams have similar benefits, they only really provide the coverage of a tinted moisturiser. Not great if you want to hide any blemishes, am I right?

On the other hand, CC cream is like BB’s older (and far wiser) sister. It offers moisture and sun protection, but also has the missing piece of the puzzle – a perfect and natural-looking coverage.

But where on Earth will you find a CC cream that suits you, that’s cruelty-free too? Checking the ingredients alone doesn’t often help, and it can be easy to forget to check whether a product is vegan or not. (We’ve all been there).

Don’t worry, because I’ve got your back. Below you’ll find all the best vegan CC creams on the market, making it easier for you to choose the perfect one.

Pacifica Ultra CC Cream Radiant Foundation

Ideal For Mature Skin

Buy on Amazon

This is a lightweight cc cream infused with coconut water that gives skin a beautiful, moisturized glow. It is ideal for mature skin as it contains SPF and color-correcting pigments to help minimize the appearance of sun damage and prevent any future damage and wrinkles.

What We Liked

The plant-derived ingredients in this CC cream, like jojoba, coconut water, and natural plant oils, ensure skin is well nourished and not being harmed by harsh ingredients in traditional CC creams. Additionally, it has color-correcting pigments to help blur imperfections as well as mica. Mica is a light-reflecting mineral infused to give skin a glowing, airbrushed complexion.

What We Didn't Like

Pacifica’s CC cream has a limited shade range, so it is recommended to thoroughly blend the CC cream into the skin using either a buffing brush or beauty sponge. Luckily, this CC cream contains self-adjusting pigments to help it adapt to a variety of skin tones.

Juice Beauty Stem Cellular CC Cream

For Those Who Love Natural Ingredients

Buy on Amazon

Juice Beauty is known for using natural, plant-derived ingredients and avoiding harsh chemicals in their products. Their CC cream is a multi-functioning product that evens out the skin, provides moisture and has an SPF of 30.

What We Liked

This a very efficient CC cream with natural but perfecting coverage and SPF is also packed with antioxidants. Antioxidants that are left on the skin, especially when combined with SPF, are the ultimate secret to even-toned and youthful skin. Not only does it help skin look perfected with it on, but even improves your skin for when you’re not wearing it.

What We Didn't Like

This CC cream is extremely moisturizing, so it isn’t recommended for those with oily skin or those who live in a humid climate. Also, although they are naturally derived and organic, this product does contain a strong fragrance via essential oils. For those with rosacea or highly sensitive skin, it is recommended to do a spot test on the lower part of your cheek to ensure no irritation occurs.

Tarte Colored Clay CC Primer

For Those With Oily Skin

Buy on Amazon

This innovative CC cream comes in a convenient stick that is travel-friendly and ideal for touching up throughout the day. It can be used as either a smoothing primer under foundation to provide more coverage, or can be used alone for natural coverage.

What We Liked

The benefits of the Amazonian clay that Tarte infuses into their products are abundant. It is highly beneficial for those with oily and acne-prone skin as the clay helps to absorb the excess oil. This CC cream gives a soft, matte finish to the skin and blankets it with a layer of antioxidants, acaí extract, and vitamin E.

What We Didn't Like

This cruelty-free CC cream, however, does not contain any SPF and therefore does not protect skin from the sun. But, if you’ll be taking flash photography, this is ideal as it will not cause any flash-black in the photos. Also, because of its clay content and matte finish, those with dry or mature skin should heavily moisturize before application to prevent dry patches and flakiness.

Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Color + Correct

Best For Sensitive Skin

Buy on Amazon

Andalou Naturals is known for providing high-quality, plant-derived products that consumers love. This rose-infused CC cream provides a natural finish to the skin without the irritation that some plant-based CC creams can cause.

What We Liked

While the SPF in this product prevents sun damage and irritation, the ingredients themselves are extremely soothing. The first ingredient is aloe vera juice which is one of the best ingredients for sensitive skin because of its anti-inflammatory properties. This CC cream also contains rosehip, an extremely effective plant oil that helps to treat scars, marks, and inflammation caused by acne.

What We Didn't Like

This CC cream does contain silicone, however. While silicone is not necessarily toxic or bad for the skin, some people are mildly allergic to it, and it can be linked to clogged pores.

IT Cosmetics Your Skin but Better

For Ultimate Coverage

Buy on Amazon

IT Cosmetics is known for making products that are ideal for rosacea, which means abundant coverage. This CC cream provides buildable coverage that can be applied in a sheer layer or built up to cover any and all imperfections and redness on the skin.

What We Liked

This cruelty-free CC cream has a moderate level of moisture making it perfect for all types of skin. It also has light-reflecting pigments, allowing it to look natural and glowing even at its fullest coverage. This CC cream can double as skincare as well with its high levels of hyaluronic acid, which is ideal for repair and moisture, peptides, and vitamins.

What We Didn't Like

This CC cream unfortunately only comes in 3 shades. The lightest shade is, however, very light and great for very fair skin. Otherwise, the shades only deepen to a tan shade, eliminating a wide range of skin tones from being able to use this. Because of this CC cream’s popularity, the shade range will hopefully be expanded later on!

A Quick Note About Vegan CC Cream Ingredients

When shopping online, try to find the “cruelty-free” or “ vegan” claim somewhere in the description or on the product itself. Seeing the Leaping Bunny logo lets you know for-sure that the product is certified cruelty-free.

When shopping in stores, associates know which brands are cruelty-free and can actually point out entire brands that you can shop from. Additionally, there are numerous apps, websites, and blogs that list brands that do not test on animals or contain animal-derived ingredients.

While a brand may be certified cruelty-free, that doesn’t necessarily mean their products are vegan. The best way to know is to read the ingredients lists. Common ingredients to watch out for are beeswax, honey, lanolin (an oil derived from the wool of sheep), and cholesterol.

When buying asian beauty products, common animal-derived ingredients are snail secretions, bee pollen, egg whites, and milk from cows, goats, and donkeys.

So What Is Your Face Worth?

Next time you apply your daily CC cream, will you think about what it contains?

Switching to one of these great alternatives will not only ensure you’re nourishing your face throughout the day while looking perfected, but you’ll also be assured that no lives were taken just for a beauty product.

Vegan CC creams are the ultimate way to make your skin as beautiful as your heart.
