pumpkin swirl cheesecake

Pumpkin Swirl Cheesecake

I know it's cruel. But today, I am going to be a blatant tease and tantalize you with a photo of my newest creation: Pumpkin Swirl Cheesecake. Rich, creamy decadence perched upon a ginger snap base, the recipe for this hedonistic cheesecake will be published just in time for Thanksgiving, in Grid magazine's November issue.

The latest cookbook news
  • As you know, the cookbook is now available both in bookstores and online.
  • The cookbook was recently mentioned in what I thought was a very positive article on veganism in the Hartford Courant.
  • Mark your calendars, Philly peeps. I'll be doing a talk/book signing at Essene on Nov. 11. (Yes, there will be tasting samples.)

1) That cheesecake looks A-freaking-MAZING! Seriously. I'm drooling here!

2) I just purchased your cookbook last weekend, and I've already tabbed almost every single page! In fact, I bought a Silpat (which was long-overdue) last night, and am planning to make your cracker recipe tonight!

I'll let you know how they turn out :)

Thanks for the tantalizing post!

I've made many cheesecakes, and looked into buying a company that made them..I wanted to make a pumpkin cheese cake, but my wife just wants pumpkin pie! I bet that is delicious....

I've been flipping through your cookbook every day for a week since we've gotten it, and I must say--I love it. And I'm not just saying that to flatter you. We've tried a few recipes so far (which I didn't get to during testing) and they've come out wonderfully. And I love the look of it, and the layout, and I especially love that the index doesn't suck (an important thing for neurotics like me!).

Ah, what a tease!! It looks so good. I've actually been craving pumpkin cheezecake since the cooler weather started.

On your book, I can't wait to get it! I was holding out until after my birthday to see if a) anyone of my friends buys it for me or b) I get birthday money. If neither of those things happens, I'll still buy it as soon as the birthday is over. It's already on my Amazon wish list.

Hi Denise,

I'm going to make the millet leek pie from the book tomorrow but I'm not sure what size pie dish to use. Can you help?

I found this:
RESCUE INK is a rescue group unlike any you’ve seen before: a bunch of tattooed, motorcycle-riding tough guys who have joined together to fight animal cruelty, educate abusers and help resolve situations other rescue groups can’t – or won’t – handle themselves.

Some of the guys grew up in the projects, some had their brushes with the law, some used their smarts to survive, even thrive on the streets. But that was then, this is now, and today they all share a common goal: Using every means within the thin boundaries of the law, they persuade and educate abusers about the right way to treat animals.

Like many of the animals they save, the members of Rescue Ink know what it’s like to be given a second chance in life. And they’re using theirs to help the animals, no matter what it takes.
